High Point Market - Announces the 2017 Style Spotters Team
High Point, NC, November 15, 2016 — The High Point Market Authority (HPMA) recently debuted the long-awaited identities of the 2017 Style Spotters team. The announcement was made live during the Fall 2016 High Point Market as part of the Style Spotters LIVE! event on Tuesday, October 25.
After a panel discussion about trends seen at Fall Market and an overview of top product picks by the 2016 Style Spotters team, Style Spotter Emeritus Michelle Jennings Wiebe welcomed special guest Ann Maine, editor-in-chief of Traditional Home, to the podium for the first-ever live announcement of the up-and-coming Style Spotters team.
Another first for the program, the 2017 team is comprised of design duos, designers who work together and brand themselves as a team. Instead of 8 individual influencers, the 2017 team is composed of four pairs, including:
Tami Ramsay and Krista Nye Nicholas
CLOTH & KIND (GA & MI)
CLOTH & KIND is a nationally recognized residential & commercial interior design firm led by principals Krista Nye Nicholas & Tami Ramsay with office locations in Ann Arbor, MI & Athens, GA, and projects nationwide. The pair is renowned for their collaborative approach to the design process and for their ability to create spaces with history and heart, with story and substance. CLOTH & KIND’s design aesthetic is always classic and patinaed with a modern vibe and a worldly influence. Krista & Tami received the honor being chosen as one of ten 2016 New Trads by Traditional Home magazine, which salutes the best and brightest up and coming designers from across the country. Their work has been featured in print in Atlanta Homes & Lifestyles, Casa Vogue Brazil, Detroit Home, House Beautiful, Lonny, Traditional Home, Apartment Therapy, Elle Decor, Remodelista, Rue and StyleBeat, among other notable publications & websites.
Anishka Clarke and Niya Bascom
Ishka Designs (NY)
Ishka Designs is a Brooklyn-based interior design firm specializing in vacation properties, restaurants and residences globally. The design team consists of Founder & Interior Design Director, Anishka Clarke, and Creative Director and Photographer, Niya Bascom. The company's designs are formed through collaborations with key partners, and their style can be described as clean, modern, eclectic and simplistically beautiful. They’ve been featured in various design publications and on television, including New York Spaces, Anthology, New York magazine and NBC Open House. In 2014, Ishka Designs was listed as a “Next Big Name” in Design by Lonny magazine and was listed from 2012 – 2015 as a Top 20 African-American interior design firm by the Black Interior Designers Network.
David Ecton and Lance Jackson
Parker Kennedy Living (GA)
Lance Jackson, co-founder and creative director, developed the Parker Kennedy Living interior design group and brand with business partner and co-founder, David Ecton, in 2011. The firm focuses on high-end residential interior design & product development. Their look is “Preppy on the Edge” – Southern Regency, as Lance calls it – taking a traditional interior and elevating it to an updated look using lacquer finishes and mixing textures and vintage details with young colors and patterns. With Lance’s background in interior design and David’s background in international trade and the tech industry, the duo has turned a shared passion for antiquing into a high-end design studio, procurement and retail operation in just under five years. Together, they have worked on multiple show houses, most recently participating in Traditional Home’s 2016 Southern Style Now Show House in New Orleans. They’ve also been in multiple publications, including Southern Living and Atlanta Homes & Lifestyles.
Ron Woodson and Jaime Rummerfield
Woodson & Rummerfield’s House of Design (CA)

The 2017 Style Spotters team will be led again by Style Spotter Emeritus Michelle Jennings Wiebe, president and founder of Studio M, Inc. in Tampa, FL. Wiebe will mentor the group, assist with the group’s preparation for each Market, moderate the panel for the Style Spotters LIVE! event and write the introduction for two Style Reports.
“I’m so excited to lead another Style Spotters team through the upcoming Markets,” commented Wiebe. “It’s a strong team with a lot of experience and a great variety of styles and design aesthetics.”
Style Spotters are charged with scouring the Market to find their favorite products and top trends, leaving behind a card on each item they “spot”. These finds are then posted to the High Point Market Pinterest boards and contribute to the two Style Reports (April and October) that the HPMA produces.
This new Style Spotters team will begin in January and work through both 2017 Markets – April 22 - 26 and October 14 – 18. Tom Conley, president and CEO of the High Point Market Authority, commented, “We are excited about what this diverse team will bring to High Point Market with their individual styles, social media followings and their ability to spot trends affecting the home furnishings industry.”
The Style Spotters program launched during the Fall 2011 Market as home fashion trendsetters that showcase their favorite products and top trends from Market exhibitors on Pinterest. The HPMA put the 2017 team together by using a combination of self-identified and well-known candidates, with an impartial vetting and selection committee, and sought a diverse and geographically balanced group. Former Style Spotter Beth Dotolo, along with her design duo Carolina Gentry, both co-founders of Pulp Design Studios, and Wiebe were crucial participants on the selection committee.
Additionally, for the second year in a row, the High Point Market Authority partnered with a top shelter publication, Traditional Home, in the selection of Tami Ramsay and Krista Nye Nicholas of CLOTH & KIND as one of this year’s Style Spotter duos. The team was named one Traditional Home magazine’s “Top 10 New Trad Designers” for 2016.
Market attendees will be invited to join the Style Spotters at both 2017 Markets on Tuesday morning of Market Week at 9:00am for Style Spotters LIVE!, a free event at which the Style Spotters will discuss the top trends and products they found at Market. This event is immediately followed by the Style Spotters Trend Tours, which are led by individual Style Spotters and encompass all corners of Market. These tours are an opportunity for attendees to receive guided tours through two of a Style Spotters’ favorite showrooms.
High Point Market has received international recognition as one of the top brands using Pinterest, most recently winning the 2014 “Best Use of Social Media” E.X.C.I.T.E. Award. Social media and branding experts have touted the Market’s Style Spotters program as a unique way to take advantage of brand building on Pinterest.
