HIGH POINT, N.C., December 11, 2018 – The High Point Market Authority (HPMA) is pleased to announce that it has partnered again with Esteem Media to develop a Design Bloggers Tour for the 2019 Spring Market, April 6 – 10, and is now accepting submissions from bloggers and social media influencers interested in being considered for the tour. The High Point Market Design Bloggers Tour will bring a group of ten (10) leading design bloggers to High Point Market for 2 full days of tours in sponsoring showrooms. Participating bloggers will visit each sponsor for an up-close look at the exhibitors’ company, showroom and products during a 45-minute presentation and tour. The tour will kick off on Sunday, April 7, and conclude on Monday, April 8. High Point Market - Announces New Board Leadership and Members for 2019

HIGH POINT, N.C., October 23, 2018 - The High Point Market Authority welcomes new members to its board of directors for 2019. New members include Lee Boone, co-president of Home Meridian International; Jane Dagmi, editor-in-chief of Designers Today; Carol Gregg, owner of Red Egg Resources; Mandy Jeffries Minyon, president of Colfax Furniture; and Karen Olson, senior vice president of marketing for International Market Centers. Christi Barbour, founder and partner of Barbour Spangle Design, and Alex Shuford, CEO of Rock House Farm Family of Brands, will also join the board as well as the executive committee. These seven new members became official board members upon the conclusion of the October 17 board meeting, held during Fall Market. They will each serve a two-year term through 2019 and 2020 under new board chairman, Dudley Moore, president of Otto & Moore. Moore officially assumed his new role after the October 17 board meeting following a two-year term served by Jeff Scheffer, president of Universal Furniture.

High Point Market - Recognizes Outgoing Board Membership for 2018

HIGH POINT, N.C., October 18, 2018 - At its quarterly board meeting during Fall Market, the High Point Market Authority recognized several outgoing members of its board of directors for their service to the organization. Julie Messner, senior vice president of furniture leasing - High Point, and Michelle Jennings Wiebe, president of Studio M Inc., were recognized for their service as voting board members. Bruce Cohenour, senior vice president of Bassett Furniture, and Rod Lambeth, CEO of Tomlinson/Erwin-Lambeth, were also recognized for their service on the executive committee during their terms as board members. These four outgoing board members were presented with plaques at the October 17 board meeting at the String and Splinter. The board meeting also concluded Jeff Scheffer’s reign as chairman of the board. High Point Market - Accepting Exhibitor Donations for Hurricane Victims

HIGH POINT, N.C., October 15, 2018 – The High Point Market Authority has teamed up with several partners to accept furniture donations from exhibitors following the close of Fall Market. These donations will aid in the relief efforts for victims of Hurricane Florence in the eastern part of North Carolina. Shelba D. Johnson Trucking, Inc., headquartered in Thomasville, N.C., has donated the use of a 53-foot semi-trailer for accepting donations. This trailer will be delivered to the IMC parking lot in between the IHFC and Showplace buildings in the Market district. Exhibitors are encouraged to deliver donations to the trailer between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Wednesday, October 17, or between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Thursday, October 18, or Friday, October 19. The Barnabas Network, a non-profit furniture bank serving Guilford County, is providing volunteers to staff and manage the donation point and accept any incoming furniture from exhibitors. After all donations have been received, they will be delivered to The Green Chair Project in Raleigh, N.C. Also a non-profit furniture bank, The Green Chair Project will manage distribution of the donated items to hurricane victims in need.
