High Point Market Announces App Update and New Features for Fall Market 2019

HIGH POINT, N.C., October 8, 2019 – The High Point Market Authority’s award-winning app, which made its debut right before the April 2016 Market, has released an update that includes 5 new features designed to enhance the user experience for High Point Market attendees. New features have been added to expand the versatility of searching and selecting. Users are now able to sort exhibitors in their MyMarket plan by alphabetical, building, favorite, neighborhood, and shuttle stop. Existing features allowed for in-depth searching capability of the full exhibitor list, but now users can additionally sort through their personalized list too. The new favorites feature allows app users to further identify certain exhibitors within their MyMarket list with the addition of a heart icon. The existing star icon saves an exhibitor to one’s personal list, and now the heart icon can narrow down the list even more, when needed. A new notes feature allows exhibitors to keep track of why they “loved” a particular exhibitor, or any number of other thoughts a user may have about a specific brand. New features have also been added for the events portion of the app. The full event calendar has been available in the app since its debut, but now users can sort the calendar by educational or social events. Additionally, exhibitor events are now listed in an exhibitor’s profile, and can be added to one’s MyMarket list simply by clicking the star next to the event title. “Our team has been working diligently to identify improvements for the High Point Market app that compliment and address the needs of our Market attendees,” says Tom Conley, president and CEO of the High Point Market Authority. “With so much to see and do during Market, our guests are always on the move, and they need an app that can keep up with them. These new features will facilitate a more seamless user experience and further enhance the usability and functionality of this important tool.”

High Point Market Partners with Business of Home for Inaugural Future of Home Conference

HIGH POINT, N.C., August 13, 2019 – Business of Home (BOH), the leading news publication for the home industry, along with the High Point Market Authority, will present the first-ever conference of its kind, Future of Home, September 9–10, in New York City. Featuring in-depth conversations with top design and digital leaders about the forces of change sweeping the home industry — from subscription furniture and on-demand design services to the evolving preferences of affluent consumers — the two-day event will address business changes and challenges, spotlight innovation, and lay the course for a promising future. “Through our daily reporting at BOH, we’ve seen how innovators, entrepreneurs, disruptors and investors are shaking up the home industry,” says Julia Noran Johnston, founder of Business of Home. “Our goal is to bring some of these people to the stage, create connections, and inspire takeaways for interior designers and home brands. Our industry is experiencing tremendous growth — and the design trade should be part of it.” “The timing of this conference is ideal, as we’ve been researching and discussing for years an initiative and consortium of partners based around the concept of what the future holds for the home industry,” says Tom Conley, president and CEO of the High Point Market Authority. “Julia and her team have developed an exceptional line-up of thought leaders for this conference and we are delighted to partner with them on this. High Point Market Opens Registration, Adds Tours for 4th Annual Hospitality At Market Program

HIGH POINT, N.C., August 6, 2019 – Registration is now open for the 2019 Hospitality At Market program, now in its fourth year. Presented by the High Point Market Authority, in partnership with its media partner, InspireDesign, Hospitality At Market will take place on Sunday, October 19, and Monday, October 20, during the Fall High Point Market. Although High Point Market has long been known as a world-leading residential furnishings event, many High Point exhibitors have, for years, designated portions of their showroom space to displaying their hospitality products as well. Recognizing the depth of product available in this category, the Hospitality At Market program was created in 2016 as an annual event designed to recruit hospitality buyers – namely architects, designers, purchasing agents, management companies, and hotel brands – to Market and introduce them to the exhibitors offering furnishings and accessories in their category. “Many of the exhibitors who show here in High Point are also major suppliers to the hospitality industry,” says Tom Conley, president and CEO of the High Point Market Authority. “Their presence at every other hospitality show is often limited to some sales representatives and maybe a few pieces of their lines. Here, they can take buyers through their flagship showrooms, some of which span tens of thousands of square feet. Guests can experience their suppliers’ full lines, all of their latest introductions, and their complete range of capabilities. Plus, they can meet with not just their reps, but with a supplier’s full executive team.”
