Comprised of eight home fashion leaders who showcase the top new styles of each Market, a new Style Spotters team is selected each calendar year from amongst today’s most popular designers and industry influencers. The 2020 Style Spotters team will be selected in August and then announced live at the Style Spotters LIVE! breakfast at Fall Market on Tuesday, October 22. Dubbed The Crypton Patio, this activation will create a first-of-its-kind, pop-up outdoor lounge, dining and meeting area that will be open to all Market attendees. Centrally located in the Center Stage lot between the Showplace and IHFC buildings, the same area which hosts the Stars Under the Stars concerts, the space is designed to create a relaxing retreat from the busyness of Market and offer a convenient location for networking and outdoor meetings. Features such as the hammock garden and outdoor seating with umbrellas will welcome guests on Saturday, April 6, Sunday, April 7, and Monday, April 8, from 11am – 4pm, weather permitting. Food trucks will be available nearby in front of Showplace for those looking to grab a quick bite to enjoy on the patio. “The vibe will be fun and relaxed,” says Crypton Home’s marketing director, Elise Gabrielson. “It’s a spot where you can camp out between appointments, relax, eat lunch, catch up with colleagues and friends. HIGH POINT, N.C., February 19, 2019 – The High Point Market Authority (HPMA) has expanded the Style Spotters Trend Tours program for Spring Market, April 6-10, 2019. A program focused on exposing Market attendees to the wide variety of exhibitors High Point Market has to offer, Style Spotters Trend Tours has been a favorite program of Market guests for several years. Traditionally, the Style Spotters Trend Tours have been offered on Tuesday of each Market, immediately following the Style Spotters LIVE! breakfast. The tours consisted of each Style Spotter picking two of their favorite showrooms around Market and then leading a group on a tour of those two showrooms within a 60-minute timeframe. Beginning this spring, two different types of Trend Tours will be available. The Favorites Tours will follow the traditional schedule and will be offered on the morning of Tuesday, April 9, at 10:15am following the Style Spotters’ breakfast event, showcasing two favorite showrooms each during one-hour tours. Four Style Spotters will offer these tours – Shayla Copas, Cynthia Ferguson, Benjamin Johnston and Style Spotters Advisor Shay Geyer. No RSVP is required for the Favorites Tours. Category Tours will expand the program beyond Tuesday programming, offering 2-hour tours on a specific product category and covering 4 showrooms each. High Point Market - Unveils Findings of 2018 Economic Impact Report

HIGH POINT, N.C., February 13, 2019 – The High Point Market Authority (HPMA) today released the key findings from a 2018 economic impact study that highlights the High Point Market's major impact on North Carolina's economy. Commissioned as an update to a similar study done in 2013, which calculated Market’s economic impact at $5.39 billion annually, the 2018 report updates that number to $6.73 billion annually. These findings solidify High Point Market’s standing as still the largest economic event in the state of North Carolina. In broad strokes, the report concludes that High Point Market contributes $6.73 billion in economic impact annually, 42,427 jobs, and $616 million in tax revenue across all levels of government - $202 million of that at the state and local levels. The study was conducted by the Global Value Chains Center at Duke University and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, the same group who compiled the 2013 report using the same methodology. "These results show the tremendous impact High Point Market has on our local area as well as the state as a whole. They will hold the title throughout the calendar year and will apply their trend-tracking abilities to both 2019 Markets – April 6 – 10 and October 19 – 23. Style Spotters are charged with scouring the Market to find their favorite products and top trends, leaving behind a card on each item they “spot”. These finds are then posted to High Point Market Pinterest boards and contribute to the two Style Reports (Summer/Fall and Winter/Spring) that the HPMA produces. The 2019 team also has two new mentors to provide guidance to the team and write the introduction for each Style Report.
